PETITION TO THE PARLIAMENT OF A THE REPUBLIC OF HUNGARY AS WELL AS TO EACH MEMBER OF THE PARLIAMENT SUBJECT: Request for the full rehabilitation of Lieutenant Colonel István Belovai. SUMMARY Statement of facts: Belovai risked his life when helping NATO to prevent a nuclear catastrophy. He was condemned as „spy and traitor" in the Hungarian People's Republic. He got a pardon in the Hungarian Republic, but has not ever been rehabilitated. The Republic of Hungary is a full member of the NATO. Consequently, the Belovai case has a negative effect on the international image of this country. The Ferenc Deák Internet Corresponding Club in the following written statement, signed by its members and supporters, is petitioning for repeal or amend the provision of the law No. 1992 in order to set the necessary legal stage for the full rehabilitation of Lieutenant Colonel István Belovai, who, as a Hungarian Military Intelligent Officer take his life and carrier at risk when provided a vitally important information to NATO about Soviet spy activity in Germany. The spies sent their data concerning defense potential of the West through Hungary to Moscow. The length of the petition is justified by the quantity of the presented important judicial, political and historical supporting arguments, as well as the attached equally important files which were written by well respected figures of the political left and right: Ferenc Kőszeg, a previous political prisoner during the communist regime and member of the first freely-elected Parliament, and Prof. Imre Bokor, Academic Doctor (DSC) of Military Science).
