Camps in the area of Novosibirsk Novosibirsk During an interview in 1993, a witness in Lithuania described an encounter with Americans at Transit Prison Novosibirsk transit prison about June 1952. The witness said there were two American pilots in the group of prisoners brought into his small room. The other prisoners brought in (two or three others) were German. The Americans told him that they had been shot down in Korea. They were dressed in Khaki shirts and trousers with no belts. The first American told the source that he was a captain in the Air Force. The source remembered only that he was tall and had a red beard. He could recall no details about the second pilot.
