How to Ruin your Family

  • Let your kids know that your adult world is more important than their world.

  • Make sure each family member has his or her own TV in their bedroom so they can spend a lot of time alone.

  • Be too busy to attend your kid’s school and athletic functions.

  • Talk about doing a job like it is punishment instead of making it seem like the job is part of being in a family.

  • Don’t go to the trouble of planning family outings.

  • Don’t take family vacations together.

  • Regularly criticize family members for not meeting your expectations.

  • Whine about how one family member’s circumstances are affecting everyone else’s life.

  • Be rigid.

  • Disapprove of family members’ performances and belittle their efforts. Always make them redo the job.
